The History Section contains documents from the sixteenth to the nineteenth centuries (up to 1870), mainly administrative documents from the colonial period and the First Republic, capitular acts and official and private correspondence. It consists of 450 unbound volumes, each containing a variable number of documents.
This section has been digitized through an agreement between the SNC and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and later indexed and published online through a project of the Ibero-American cooperation program.
